Optima is an humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Hermann Zapf between 1952 and 1955 for the D.Stempel AG foundry, Frankfurt in Germany.
The history of Optima born in Italy just in Florence. Zapf found inspiration in inscriptions made on old grave markers in a church floor, The Optima typeface is a clear and precise font designed by the renowned type designer Hermann Zapf. Optima was inspired by classical Roman inscriptions and is distinguished by its flared terminals. The curves and straights of the Optima fonts vary minutely in thickness to provide a graceful and clear impression to the eye.
